A Cape May Classic Updated for Today

From its beginning in the 1940s as a family-run tavern with lodging upstairs, to the 1980s rowdy dive of questionable repute, Mayer's Tavern has always occupied a special place in the Cape May community.

In 2016 father and daughter team Keith & Alex Laudeman began renovations to preserve and reinvigorate this Cape May classic. Keeping intact the famed central bar and uncovering unique original details, the updated tavern became a quick favorite of locals and visitors alike.
